ShAdCo Report

One of our board members brings this update from the recent meeting as well as a few easy things that you can do for your neighborhood:

Tuesday's Shadco meeting was very informative. Besides hearing from the police officers about the work they do in the Horse Patrol Unit, residents got to voice their concerns about getting more time allocated to hearing future concerns as well. Some Riverside residents came and got to speak to Officer Crosby about their immediate problems.

I would like to share with everyone that one of the best ways to enhance networking outcomes is to join in the fun stuff. This weekend 4/28 and 4/29 is an important time for Riverside Avondale, it is the Home Tour. RAP could still use volunteers to be at the various homes. There is a two hour slot. This is a great event and it is good to see the positive impression citywide attendees have for this area. We know the hard work involved to keep it nice, but having fun is part of the experience. If someone is willing to volunteer, they can call 389-2449 and their help will be most appreciated. There is even a free Volunteer party as a thank you. AmSouth is holding the party at its new branch on Margaret Street.

I hope after this busy week, to work with two of my neighbors on my block to do an alley cleanup as part of our block activity. Thanks again for your efforts.

ShAdCo Meeting is This Tuesday

This month's meeting is April 24 from 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm. This event repeats on the fourth Tuesday of every month. the substation is located in the old Cedar Hills Shopping Center at 3726 Blanding Blvd.

The police have their hands full in our city this year. If you have any complaints the best way to be heard is in person. There seems to be a small crime wave hitting the district and we still have a graffiti problem. The police need your help. If you don't report the crimes, they can't do anything about it.

Call the Zone 4 Substation at 573-3165 if you have any questions.
