All Great Cities Have Great Parks

Here's a a story from the Daily Record about our new director of the Department of Parks, Recreation, Entertainment and Conservation. There is a brief mention about the recent tree planting in Boone Park. It doesn't mention our own Doug Coleman, but this one from the Times Union does. You will have to sign up to read the story, but it is worth it. And it's free.

And by the way, the planting would not have happened without him. Thanks to all the volunteers and especially to Doug! That's him on the left along with Early Piety and Susan Corbett.

Illegal signs

Don't trash Jacksonville

Our fine First Coast city has spent a lot of money on a noble advertising
campaign reminding people to not trash Jacksonville. However, it seems that RAP and realtors turn a blind eye to the myriad of illegal signs (per sec. 326.104 Unlawful signs) blighting our fine neighborhood. Please what is the difference between a company wanting to buy houses and RAP putting Illegal signs in the public right-a-way? Sorry but your signs in parks etc. are illegal!!!

What kind of example are you setting???
