JTA to Hold Public Meeting on Proposed Riverside Trolley
The Jacksonville Transportation Authority is exploring the idea of adding new trolley service between Downtown, along Riverside Avenue and into the historic Five Points area during the midday hours. The goal is to offer new mobility choices in the targeted area, while alleviating on-going parking issues experienced in Five Points during the lunch hour.
JTA will look to get feedback from both employees who work in the Riverside area, as well as business owners along the proposed route before it finalizes any plans for the trolley. A public meeting to solicit this feedback is planned for Thursday, December 13 between 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the lower level conference room of the St. Joe’s building (245 Riverside Avenue). The conference room is located next to Little Joe’s CafĂ© so that attendees can easily attend during their lunch break.
The meeting will be an open house format so citizens can attend anytime during the meeting period that fits their schedule. There will be a continuous playing video outlining the trolley plan, along with proposed route maps.
