After months and months of hard work, 13 Gypsies is open! They are a family run restaurant featuring European peasant food. The menu features a great selection of tapas and wine. They seem very determined to provide a truly unique dining experience for Jacksonville. Much of what they offer is made in their own kitchen – breads, sausage, cheese, pasta, cured meats, and on and on. Their website points out that they do NOT offer fusion cuisine. Theirs stay true to Chef Howard's roots offering dishes from India, Cental Europe, Italy, Spain, France and Northern Africa.
They are located at 887 Stockton Street in the Marybuilt. Give them a try then report back right here on how they did.

Just tried it last night. Unusual offerings, all well-prepared. I especially loved the stuffed squid and the spiced shrimp. Yum! On the flip side, they may want to work on that air conditioning . . .
