The Riverside Avondale area was recently the subject of a nice article in The London Financial Times. While describing much of the homes in Jacksonville as "cookie cutter" style and indistinguishable from the rest of Florida, the district brings praise for its preservation efforts yielding “one of the largest collections of early to mid-20th-century residential architecture in the country”.
