Today, June 17th, and next Thursday, June 24th, urban core workers and visitors can go Off the Grid at a number of participating art galleries, and score some deep discounts on lunch from 11 am to 2 pm. Off the Grid, a partnership between Downtown Vision, Inc, and the Cultural Council of Greater Jacksonville, is the brainchild of prominent local artist Jim Draper, who wants to fill vacant properties in the urban core with artists seeking much-needed work and exhibition space. A dozen downtown restaurants and nine downtown galleries are participating.
