Development Update, 1534 Oak Street

The Land Use and Zoning Committee met last night, September 21, and voted to approve the proposed development at 1534 Oak Street. Although RAP voiced numerous concerns about the project as presently designed (specifically, that it doesn’t meet the Overlay’s parking requirement, and that the building’s scale and mass are too large for the parcel), the LUZ Committee passed the project through with only minor conditions. These include: Music will be prohibited after 10 pm during the week and 12 pm on the weekends on the rooftop deck; and the developer will have to set the building back one foot from the sidewalk on the Margaret Street side.
