The Oscar-nominated Live Action and Animated Short Films will be playing February 18th to the 24th. Each program includes all 5 short films - most of them are pretty interesting and often feature directors who are ready to break out into the mainstream. The Fighter, nominated for 5 Oscars, plays February 18th to the 24th. In it, up-and-coming fighter Micky Ward is torn between his loyalty to his older brother and manager, Dicky, and his desire to move beyond the chaotic family life that threatens to derail his plans.

The following week 3 films will play:
Best Foreign Film favorite Biutiful plays February 27th to March 3rd. Star Javier Bardem (best known as the villain in No Country for Old Men) was also nominated for Best Actor.
Best Animated Feature nominee The Illusionist also plays February 27th to March 3rd. This charming French film was made by the director of The Triplets of Belleville and is favored to lose the Oscar to Toy Story 3.
