The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 is a seminal piece of civil rights legislation enacted to give equal access to facilities to all americans. The Mayor's Disability Council and RAP have teamed up to create a one-hour breakfast workshop for business owners with office or commercial properties in the historic district.
Workshop will discuss the benefits of retrofitting for accessibility, Preservation Brief 32 on making historic properties accessible, and present case studies demonstrating how to make propeties accessible without destroying their significant materials, features, and spaces.
