Life does have a way about having its way with all of us. Keeping the grass cut is one thing that most of us can remember to do on a nearly regular basis, but what about those other things? When was the last time that you inspected your outdoor electric wiring? Or applied plant fertilizer to your vegetables and annual flowers? Have you ever inspected the mortar in your fireplace? Doing these any of these things won't take you much time, especially if you have a plan that spreads out your chores. The struggle comes with creating that plan and knowing what you should be doing in the first place.
The internet can be a great place to look but it can also turn into a serious time drain. The good news is that there is help. I found a site that sends me a gentle reminder to get the job done. It is called Manage My Life. You can pick and choose what you want help remembering. Most jobs only take a few minutes. You will receive a reminder e-mail at the frequency you want. In it you are told the time required, difficulty, expertise required to accomplish the task and how often you should do the job. You are also provided with a link that will give you step-by-step instructions, usually with illustrations. The site is also a great resource for other home related items. Find a copy of that lost owner's manual or ask a question about a specific project.
So the hardest thing for you to do is make the time to do them.
