RAP to host District 14 Candidate Forum on Feb. 3rd.
Are you concerned that you know too little about the candidates vying for the District 14 City Council seat? Do you want to be able to make an informed choice about which candidate will best represent the interests of Riverside and Avondale?
Here’s your chance to meet and question the District 14 candidates firsthand. On Thursday, February 3, RAP will host a candidate forum in the auditorium of the Cummer Museum. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and forum begins at 6 p.m. The six District 14 candidates who qualified for the ballot (listed below) will be present. Please submit your questions for the candidates to info@riversideavondale.org
Kendall G. Bryan, Jr
Jill Dame
Shelton Hull
Jim Love
Henry Mooneyhan
Greg Rachal
Note that this is a unitary election in which voters are not limited to candidates of certain parties (as is the case with the more familiar partisan primary system). However, the political party of each candidate will be identified on the ballot. Early voting begins March 7th. The first Election is March 22, 2011. (If one candidate does not obtain 50 percent of the votes plus one in the first election, then the two candidates with the most votes face off in the general election.) The General Election is scheduled for May 17, 2011.
